In addition to millions of doves, our area also has large numbers of Spotted Wing and also Picazuro Pigeons.  Pigeons are normally hunted with decoys (both static and motion) with the hunter using a well-placed blind.  Pigeons are much more wary than doves and are easily spooked, making them one of the most thrilling birds to hunt in South America.  Anyone that likes to hunt over decoys will love hunting pigeons.  Besides being wary, they are hard to bring down and offer challenging shooting for those looking to change the pace. 

Depending on location and season, ADU has a strict limit of 25 to 50 pigeons per day to ensure that the population maintains itself and that every hunter can enjoy an amazing experience.  Only 50 pigeons?  Yes, 50 pigeons in a morning is a lot and the way we hunt them is very sporting and most guests agree that 50 is a liberal limit if not too liberal.  Pigeons do not exist in any place in Argentina allowing for unlimited shooting, and furthermore, it isn't legal to shoot more than 50 and we respect local laws and limits.  Much like Ducks, we need to protect them so that everyone can enjoy a chance to hunt them and so that the local authorities continue to allow us to hunt them.  Our guests agree.  But don't worry, dove hunting is offered in the same day for those that want to continue shooting.  Pigeons tend to be more migratory than doves making the program more seasonal and available sometimes and not available others.  The best months to hunt pigeons are April thru August.

Perdiz can be hunted in our area from May 15^th until August 1^st. Hunters can expect to shoot up to twelve perdiz per day over well-trained pointers and setters.  For those of you that don't know, the perdiz is the ultimate in flushing birds and offers serious and exciting action for those that enjoy walking and watching dogs work.  Because perdiz do not covey, normally singles are found, flushes are thrilling, and unlike many other flushing birds, perdiz flush in any and every direction and fly in an erratic pattern.  They are hard to get a bead on and challenge even for the most seasoned hunter.  This is a program for those that like to get out and walk and enjoy working with dogs. When we have the program ready, we will be offering it along with doves and pigeons.  At the moment, it is offered as an "exploratory" to those guests that want to take a break from the hot barreled action ADU provides on a daily basis.
